LMC has announced the grand opening of The Morris, a luxury mixed-use apartment community located along Music Row in Nashville at the site of country music icon Dale Morris’ former office.

The Nov. 2 grand-opening celebration featured a bevy of music industry figures, including a live performance from Benton Blount, a finalist on America’s Got Talent. Speakers at the event for the music-themed development included country music singer Louise Mandrell, LMC Divisional President Chris Cassidy and Morris, the guest-of-honor. The Morris features a music studio, rooftop performance stage and several other odes to the country music industry.

“The Morris is among the most unique communities we’ve ever had the pleasure of developing, and we’re ecstatic to be a part of Music Row at such an iconic location,” Cassidy said. “The grand-opening celebration was a fitting way to kick-start what we believe will be an authentic Nashville experience for our music-loving residents. We’re truly honored to celebrate Dale’s legacy with the community and cannot wait to welcome home our new residents.”

The community, which contains 344 apartment homes and 6,000 feet of ground-floor retail, is adorned with music paraphernalia and music-themed design throughout the building that closely reflects the rich music history of Nashville. That includes two autographed Alabama guitars from the band’s farewell tour in 2003, Morris’ songwriting guitar and, in the mailroom, big-picture views of Kenny Chesney’s stadium tours. The latter is significant because no country music artist had previously done an entire tour of stadiums. The leasing office features memorabilia from the Bama House, which Morris created as a temporary 5,000-square-foot Nashville home for Alabama.

Since relocating from his native South Carolina to Nashville in 1969, Morris ascended from humble beginnings to develop a generation of innovators – both as artists and executives. A career that was unearthed by writing the song Don’t Monkey With Another Monkey’s Monkey for Johnny Paycheck evolved into management gigs with Alabama, Kenny Chesney, Jake Owen, Martina McBride and Old Dominion. An astonishing amount of music history was developed at this site, as Morris holds the distinction of becoming the first manager in the history of the entertainment industry to help guide artists to 16 Entertainer of the Year awards.

The Morris, located southwest of downtown in the Midtown submarket, captures the aura of the Nashville music scene in which Morris has been such an integral figure. The community is notable for its proximity to downtown, Vanderbilt University and The Gulch, an urban development on the edge of the Central Business District that plays host to numerous live music performances.

The Morris consists of studio, 1- and 2-bedroom homes and is pet friendly. Additional community amenities include a rooftop club with pool, fitness center, clubroom, a seventh-floor outdoor terrace with grill stations and skyline views of Music City, a pet spa, and bike parking and repair station. Apartment interiors are equipped with condo-level finishes, including quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, in-home washers and dryers, ceiling fans and luxury wood-like flooring.
