LMC Announces Grand Opening of Onyx Edina Apartments

LMC has announced the Grand Opening of Onyx Edina, a mixed-use apartment community featuring 11,500 square feet of retail space.

The Grand Opening event for the 240-unit community, centrally located in Edina, took place in June and included a ribbon-cutting ceremony to kick off the festivities. Rick Beckwitt, president of Lennar Homes, was in attendance along with many others who aided in the development process.

During the ceremony, LMC presented a monetary donation to the Fairview Foundation, which oversees several hospitals across the state. LMC’s contribution, as per request, will be allocated to the community outreach program at Fairview Southdale, which is based in Edina.

“We not only want to be a good neighbor, but to instill ourselves as a part of the Edina municipality,” said Jon Fletcher, senior development manager for LMC. “This ceremony was a chance to celebrate the completion of our new development, but it also served as an opportunity to show the fine people and service workers of Edina that we’re on their side and proud to become a part of the neighborhood.”

First move-ins at Onyx Edina began Dec. 2, but the Grand Opening symbolized the completion of the development phase and the availability of all apartment homes. The community’s retail space is now 84 percent occupied and includes Alchemy 365, a high-intensity group fitness studio, and Piada Italian Street Food.

Located at 6725 York Avenue South, Onyx Edina sits within close proximity to several of the area’s key thoroughfares. Minnesota State Routes 62 and 100 and Interstate 35W provide access to Minneapolis to the north, St. Paul to the northwest and Bloomington to the south. Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport is less than 10 miles from the community and the world renown Mall of America is within six miles. Additional nearby attractions include Galleria Edina, Southdale Center, Roseland Park, Centennial Lakes Park and 50th and France, a commercial development home to 175 upscale retailers and professional services.
