Associate Spotlight: Adam Herrmann - Assistant Vice President of Investments

Associate Spotlight Template Adam

Quarterra Assistant Vice President of Investments Adam Herrmann has been with the company for seven years, but did you know that this avid outdoorsman has lived on both coasts and now resides in the Rocky Mountains? Adam’s enthusiasm for Quarterrra’s successes and his outlook for its future are contagious, so let’s all catch what Adam’s got and find out what keeps this Clemson Tiger ticking in his investments role.

What is your official title and job description?

My title is Assistant Vice President, Investments. I support the Investments group with a focus on capital markets, portfolio management and investor relations.

What is your Quarterra story (how did you land at Quarterra)?

My Quarterra story started during my college years with a happenstance introduction to JR Plyler and a subsequent coffee meeting. From there, I completed a summer internship and joined full time upon graduating from Clemson University (go Tigers!). I’ve been associated with the company now for seven years and it’s been really fun to be part of the growth over that time period.

Tell us your favorite thing about working at Quarterra?

It’s exciting to work with some of the most talented people in the industry. Investments gets to work with all our regional teams and it’s always energizing to visit with our teams and communities across the country. Getting to know our teams, the neighborhoods they add value to, and the product we deliver all over the country is awesome.

What's your favorite Quarterra Core Value?

We’ve found a way to be a large, institutional company and still maintain a spirit of entrepreneurship. I attribute that to the emphasis we put into both collaboration and empowerment. I think that combination is unique and it shows in both the product we deliver to residents and the returns we deliver for our investors.

What are you most looking forward to in Quarterra’s future?

I’m excited to be part of the continued growth and evolution of our business. The landscape for multifamily investment and development is challenging but Quarterra/Lennar is uniquely positioned to be opportunistic during these times. We have the personnel and infrastructure in place to do some cool things over the next several years.

Bio/Quarterra Accolades:

I was born in Seattle and lived there for 14 years before my family relocated to Charlotte, where I went to high school. I graduated from Clemson University and made my way back to the Crown Town to join Quarterra. I have recently relocated to Denver and can now say I’ve lived on the West Coast, East Coast, and “the middle.” I realized during a college internship with a Seattle developer that I loved the real estate business — the tangibility of what we do and the relationships we develop with industry peers. Since then, I joined Quarterra and have worked on some really cool projects, highlights being the closing of a couple of our large equity funds, sourcing and closing our first asset acquisition, and being recognized at our Senior Leadership Meeting. I love the outdoors — skiing, fly fishing, golf, hiking, etc. — and I’m a big sports fan.
