What is your official title?
Community Manager at The 23 in Dallas, TX!
What is your Quarterra story (how did you land at Quarterra)?
In the summer of 2016, I was searching for a Leasing Professional position at a lease-up in Dallas. I was referred to Quarterra by Megan Mahoney. My interview was scheduled with Jodi Harrison and Lucy Simone – I think we met at a Corner Bakery. Within the first five minutes, I knew I needed to land this job. Jodi and Lucy had the most contagious, exciting energy and I wanted to be a part of whatever was going on at Quarterra. I remember walking to my car after the interview and canceling two other interviews I had lined up because I knew this was where I was meant to be.
Tell us your favorite thing about working at Quarterra?
The people! This company has introduced me to so many wonderful people throughout the years. I love the support and mentorship I’ve experienced, as well as the friendships I have made. Quarterra leadership does a tremendous job at making every single associate feel heard and appreciated. I’ve been able to learn so much through my peers – with one special experience being the Women’s Leadership team allowing me to connect and learn from other leaders in the company.
What’s your favorite Quarterra Core Value?
My favorite Quarterra core value is “Listen, then speak up.” As Community Managers, we are often dealing with conflict, and I refer to this core value in moments of adversity. Most people want to be heard – me included. Whether it is a situation in my personal or professional life, I always try to listen first before responding or speaking an opinion. This Quarterra core value has strengthened my relationships with residents, associates and even my friends and family. Sometimes the “solution” people are looking for is to be heard and understood.
What are you most looking forward to in Quarterra’s future?
I look forward to upcoming opportunities for growth! I love meeting new Quarterra associates and watching current Quarterra associates advance in their careers.
I grew up in the Dallas area (primarily Frisco) and received a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M in Communication. I joined Quarterra in Dallas in 2017 as a Leasing Professional and moved to San Diego shortly after where I took on a role as Assistant Manager at Shift. After a few years in San Diego, I knew I was ready for a Community Manager position and was ecstatic when a role opened in Dallas that brought me home!
