Associate Spotlight: Josh Purkeypile, VP of Operations

Starting his journey with LMC in 2015, Josh Purkeypile is a shining example of the Core Values we hold so dear at LMC. Not only is he an example of our employee referral (JoAnn Blaylock brought him to us) but also of our promise of growth and opportunity with his recent promotion to VP of Operations!

As VP of Operations, Josh focuses on property performance and strategy across the portfolio, as well as key corporate initiatives. He's a proud graduate of Texas Tech and loves to play volleyball and pingpong. Let's hear from Josh a little bit more of his experience and what he loves most about working for LMC (spoiler: it's you!)

What is your LMC story?

After working for JoAnn for several years at a prior company, I received an unexpected call that drastically changed my career trajectory. She asked me to join her growing team at Lennar Multifamily Communities, which at the time, was managing only 4 active communities.

I leaped at the chance. (Even though I wasn’t exactly sure what the job would entail.) By the end of next year, LMC will be managing 50+ communities in more than 20 markets. Even on the outlier tough days, it feels like I won the job lottery.

Tell us your favorite thing about working at LMC.

The people. Hands down. LMC is made up of so many talented, caring, hilarious, brilliant, and driven people, who make this explosively growing company feel more like a family. Our culture is unmatched.

Which LMC Core Value is most important to you?

LMC’s unbelievable commitment to our people. From Todd, Ed, and JoAnn, we receive an example of leadership that focuses on hiring the best people and supporting them at a level I’ve never seen before. No one is a number. No idea is too big or too small. We are all in it to win it.

What are you most looking forward to in LMC's future?

I look forward to continuing to watch as our associates are able to grow their careers, as we continue to build a growing company that prioritizes cultural preservation as an absolute.
