Peter van Overbeek serves as a Director at Quarterra where he oversees development pipeline and land acquisition across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. In addition, he manages projects through every phase of the development lifecycle, including due diligence, design, entitlements and permitting, oversight of general contractors during construction, and coordination with property and asset management teams through lease-up and disposition. His experience spans high-rise, mid-rise, and garden-style developments throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Peter joined Quarterra in 2020 and has since worked on or led 11 projects. Prior to entering real estate development, he worked in management and IT consulting at Hitachi Consulting and was a Senior Program Manager at Tableau Software. He earned a Bachelors in Business Administration from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington and completed a Master of Science in Real Estate, also from the University of Washington. He remains engaged with his alma mater as a regular guest lecturer.
Peter lives in Seattle with his wife and two young children. Outside of work, he enjoys golf, fly fishing, skiing, and mountaineering, having climbed six of the “Seven Summits” (the highest peak on each continent). In college, he took on the challenge and successfully rode his bicycle across the country from San Francisco to Washington, D.C.
