Kara Shear joined Quarterra in 2023 and serves as Vice President of Corporate Accounting, where she oversees financial reporting, forecasting, and core financial operations across the enterprise. In this role, she leads compensation accounting, payroll, lease administration, corporate budgeting, and the preparation of external financial statements, partnering with cross-functional leaders to strengthen processes and drive efficiency.
Prior to Quarterra, Kara spent five years at LendingTree as a leader on the revenue and receivables accounting team, where she played a key role in integrating multiple acquisitions, implementing new accounting standards, and advancing process improvements through automation. Earlier in her career, she spent six years with KPMG, providing audit services to large public and private clients in the financial services and healthcare sectors. Kara is a Certified Public Accountant and holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Accountancy from Bentley University. She lives in Charlotte, NC with her husband and two daughters and is an avid reader.
